Veedol Brand Returns to the German Market

The competition in the German market for lubricants has intensified. “As of March 2014, the historic oil brand Veedol will again return to the German market”, says a statement issued by Veedol Germany GmbH, based in Hamburg. Veedol is working towards rebuilding the Veedol brand in Switzerland and Austria as a premium brand in the field of automotive lubricants. To re-launch in Germany, Veedol started to offer a wide product assortment. According to a brochure, its product range includes car, truck and motorcycle oils, and lubricants for manual and automatic transmissions, grease and coolant. The global brand licensing rights has belonged to the Tide Water Oil Company of Indian since 2011. Tide Water Oil Company of India was formed in 1928 by the Tide Water Oil Company based in Pensylvania, USA to market Veedol Products in India. The leaders of Veedol Germany are no strangers to the automotive industry. CEO Nils Blunck, who previously held executive positions with Royal Dutch Shell and Lukoil Europe, and Sales Director, Dietmar Neubauer who worked until recently for Fuchs Lubricants in the same position, both have numerous contacts in the German market and are key in developing the marketing strategy of Veedol Germany. “Our home was and is the specialist workshop,” Blunck stated in a press release. “Veedol products will therefore neither be available in construction nor in the supermarket segment.” The brand was founded in 1913 and was distributed to the German market until 2003 when it was then gradually withdrawn from the market. At the time, Veedol was a “High-end brand with high consulting expertise and absolute specialist trade loyalty” and was additionally a “brands with a high consumer awareness having good opportunities in the market.” This re-emergence in the German market is only a part of the Veedol brands plans for global distribution. With head office in Dubai, AE, Veedol is once again poised to become “The Professional’s Choice in Motor Oil” to professionals around the world.
